Kiddiwinks Pre-school is very proud to have achieved the Gold award in Healthy Early Years.

The purpose of this award is to give recognition to settings who have and are actively participating in the Food and Nutrition Project. The award recognises settings who have embedded and are sustaining a healthy eating/living approach.

Through achieving this award we promote an enhanced understanding of the importance of eating environment and the social aspect of meals. We support fussy eaters, healthy eating, and promote good oral health and physical activity in our every day practice. Supporting our children and families in a healthy lifestyle.

OUR ETHOS

THE team at KIDDIWINKS ARE UNITED IN THEIR BELIEF THAT:

  • All children are individuals

  • All children are respected and valued

  • All children can reach their full potential

In our pre-school we develop a happy, loving and secure environment to promote a positive experience.

We create a stimulating and challenging environment that provides a foundation for future learning.  All children are respected, their individuality and potential recognised, valued and nurtured helping to develop a positive self-image. Activities and resources offer children the opportunities to develop in an environment free from prejudice and discrimination.  Through encouraging social behaviour we help children develop consideration and tolerance for others, leading to happy and positive relationships with other children and with adults.

We recognise that the development of children varies and each child has a key person who works with both your child and the parent/carer to ensure that each individual experience with Kiddiwinks is a quality one.  Some children have a special need and we seek to meet these needs by offering help and support to both the child and the parent.  We maintain a high ratio of adults to children in order to ensure generous care and education.

We are Ofsted registered and are regularly inspected for our quality and care. At our last inspection we achieved 'Good' Ofsted judgement.  We follow guidelines for child protection under the Children's Act and are registered under the Data Protection Act.

Kiddiwinks is a registered charity operating in collaboration with a committee of elected
parents and interested parties.  We are a member of the Early years Alliance and as such are committed to helping provide equal opportunity for all children and families through encouraging positive relationships with parents and carers.  All parents are regarded as members who have full participatory rights which include the right to be valued and respected, kept informed and included.
